Hard Drive partition issue

Ok,
i was a bit of an idiot, i decided to download ubuntu with vista...when i was doing it, the installation stalled after it partitioned my hard drive, so i rebooted it, and when i did, i had a 36 gb space that was partitioned, that now, won't go back to part of the main drive, i erase everything off it, and it says free space, but it won't go join up with the main part, so im running off a 100 gb partition now, its good, but i really want that space back, anyone got any ideas how to help me accomplish this?

It depends where that frespace is. If it is to the right of the partition where you want to add it, you can use Disk Management. Just right click on the partition to the left and go to "Extend volume".
