Hard drive space

Hello all;
I have a 120 g hdd. it shows 111 g used. is this 111 g the partition size or actual amount of storage i actually have data on?

the reason i ask is i just loaded vista home pre. x64 and have only done all the updates and added open office and steam and America's Army, so i would think i should still have at least 75 or 80 g left.

p.s. the rest of the disk is a windows.old space and thats only 9 g

any ideas?
