Solved HDD Question

On my hard drive there is this message that says: "Do not cover this hole" and it points to a black spot on the Hdd. This is a SATA hard drive.

Why does it say this message?

Im thinking that this is a temperature sensor, but who knows?

Hello Kelvin,

It's to allow the HDD to ventilate hot air from inside of it so that it does not build up to much pressure as it heats up.

Alright, thanks, so that means that if i want to add a hard drive, i will have to put the new one under this one correct?

That would be preferred, but as long at it's not taped over and has some free space over it between the drives, you'll be fine.
