Help for Missing Codec for WMM

I'm attempting to use Windows Movie Maker for a storyboard.
Now I want to add the music track from my Drive E and this is the message I get:

The file E:\Track01.cda cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

I've read and checked for all kinds of codecs and I just can't find the problem.
I would be deeply indebted to anyone with a suggestion.

You need to use windows media player and copy the track you want to use onto your computer then you can import it into movie maker.

I think I may have tried that too, I've been driving myself insane with this project so I can't remember, I'll try that now. If it works I promise I'll come back and rep you! :D

And thanks for the suggestion.

Yep, here's that damn message:

The file C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

All these messages are starting to look alike to me.
