HELP needed with sons PC

Hi all,

I've been spending most of this morning trying to clue my way around the sudden non-working of my Sons Packard Bell PC. I power the machine on and it starts to boot up but simply cuts out power after 15-20 seconds. I've tried pressing the function keys and boot it up manually but to no avail.

It also turns off almost immediately after turning it on unless I leave it for 5 mins.

A guy wanted to charge me £40.00 for an evaluation of the cost of repair...does the problem sound familiar to anyone else out there or could someone help?

Best case scenario is that it's overheating. You need to get a can of compressed air and blow out all of the fans especially the one on the heatsink. Follow these steps on cleaning out a pc: Cleaning the Interior of your PC

The steps for preventing static discharge are important. I lost a floppy drive to that. Thankfully that's all I lost.
