Help Please

O.k.When my computer restarts when i try to log into my(personal) desktop,it logs in and the screen goes black.I am not able to see my Desktop.I dont know what is wrong.I am on now using Safe Mode with networking..
I cant get to my(personal) desktop..I wanna see if I can fix this before i reformat..I have tried System restore..Didn't work
I am Running Vista 32bit..According to KIS2010 I dont have any Virus's or anything else.I have went through my comp file by file and found nothing Out of the Ordinary.
Any Suggestions on what to try will be appreciated..

sounds like your screen resolution is set too high. try installing all your new display drivers for the graphics card that you have and also for your monitor in safe mode. (kudos for using safe mode, alot of people dont)

its best to download the drivers from the websites directly - this ensures that you have the most recent/up-to-date drivers for your system. with all the fixes for bugs like this. It would also help if you updated your system specs
