Solved Help Removing Adobe Flash Player

I'm having trouble removing an older version of Adobe Flash Player (Flash10b.ocx). When I go to delete it, it says "I need permission to perform this action". I tried the Flash Un-installer but that just deletes the newer updated version I downloaded. Any ideas?

Just a few quick possibles:

The Uninstaller was updated 7/30/09 do you have the new version?

"need permission": In tutorials taking ownership of file.

Uninstaller - Right-click -- Run as Admin.

Tried the take ownership method. It didn't work. Still said I needed permission after Selecting "Take Ownership"

I've read a few accounts of people installing the new version on top of 10b.ocx and having it work fine.
Go figure.

Re your comment "I'm having trouble removing an older version of Adobe Flash Player (Flash10b.ocx)."
When did you download that?
Did you attempt to remove it with the then appropriate uninstall tool?
Why did you download the new version if the older version was still there? [Not a good idea.]

This may sound tedious. However -
Assuming you can run as Admin. I suggest you reboot your computer, close all of your applications and run the uninstaller again to hopefully ensure that all files are removed.

How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control

Note: On completion select the "Show Details" button in the Flash Player uninstaller. If there are any log lines that begin with "Delete on Reboot..." then you'll need to reboot BEFORE running the Flash Player installer again.

Alright. I forgot I had to close all the applications to delete the old Java. Secunia PSI (The program that detected that it was an older version) was actually running the Old Java and that's why I couldn't delete it (Go figure). After I closed that, it uninstalled fine and I am now SECURE! Thanks guys.
