Solved High memory consumption, by svchost.exe (Unable to watch movie in gom player)

Greetings
I am experiencing lags in GOM player.
The task manager shows the svchost.exe is using much of the memory

Is there any way i could reduce the memory consumption and watch the movie in peace?

94,852 K working set is not an unreasonable usage for an svchost.exe instance. This value is highly variable depending on many factors. But even if a process is using a large amount of memory it will not cause any issues unless it results in a shortage. And with only 29% usage that is clearly not the case.

Based on the numbers provided I think the likelyhood of this process being the cause of your problem is very low. It does not appear to be memory related at all.

A good way to sort services is to open them (type services.msc in start search box)
Right click, and run as administrator
Click on Status, Then hold shift and click on Startup Type

Pertaining memory the only real problem you have is when it is maxed out. Then you start using virtual memory and that is what slows your computer. 90+ mb for scvhost is typical because of all the necessary services that use it so there isn't much you can do about it other than shut down services which could result in undesirable problems. If you are experiencing lags then you are likely maxing out the cpu or gpu. Try closing other applications like browsers when watching video. If that doesn't work then perhaps your cpu and gpu aren't powerful enough. Playing video taxes your computer's resources.

Try this. Press the windows key and r. Type dxdiag into the box. Click on the Display tab. Make sure it says no problems found and that all 3 directx acceleration features are enabled.
