How do I paste a screen to a thread to show you whats wrong

Hi

If I am having a problem with my PC and you guys say to me, copy and paste the systems activity into a thread so we can all see whats going on. Yeah, easy for you to say :D

I was having problems with my hard drive running on so I went to start\run\cmd and typed in c:task.txt and the system processes came up, I copied them all and tried to paste them into a thread and when I pasted the info, it pasted all over the freakin' place and was hardly legible for you guys to see.

Is there a better way?

Hi Brian,

This is actually quite simple, although I had a bit of difficulty fathoming it out for my first post. There are actually 2 main methods. The first, if all the necessary data is on the screen, is to use the 'Sniping Tool' and create an image which you save to your hard drive (you can tidy the image up in 'Paint' if you wish). If they are text files, then save them as normal. When you wish to include them in a post, or a reply to a post, you need to select the 'Advanced' option. One of the options here is 'Attachments' (symbolised by a paperclip). If you click on this, another window opens entitled 'Manage Attachments'. This is split into 3 sections. The top 2 sections are what you are interested in, whilst the 3 section lists the valid file types and restrictions (if any). The first section is 'Upload Fle from your Computer'. Here you can upload a maximum of 4 files from your computer. Simply click 'Browse...' and locate the required file(s) - 1 per box. I have no experience of the other option, 'Upload File from a URL', but I presume that it is used for when you wish to link to a website - perhaps someone could clarify this for me and explain this particular option. Either way, you then click 'Upload' in the appropriate section. The file(s) are then uploaded to the forum servers where they are allocated a reference number. You then need to click on 'Close this window'. When you next click on the paperclip, you will see a list of file(s) that you can include in your post. Simply click on one of these, and the file will be included at the current cursor position. This will appear as the following: "" where XXXX is the reference number I mentioned earlier. You can the submit your post. When you, or someone else, subsequently views this post, they will see the file(s) in place of the above code at the appropriate place in your post.

One thing tho, I'd use the "paper Clip" to link to x64.
If you use photobucket your link will break if
you remove the image from photobucket, I learned the hard way.
