How safe is this file?

Hi,

You can run the file through VirusTotal.

Here are some instructions to get that done....

Please go to: VirusTotal
On the page you'll find a "Choose File" button.
Click on the Choose File button.
In the Choose File to Upload window which opens, copy and paste this into the File Name box.

firstrowspartsapp_setup(37).exc

Next, click the Open button.
Then click the "Scan It!" button just below.
This will scan the file. Please be patient.
If you get a message saying File has already been analyzed: click Reanalyze file now
Once scanned, copy and paste the link to the results page in your next reply.

I have limited computer knowledge, not sure how to perform that. I do know when I ran virus total all the box results where empty. Moreover the detection ratio was 0/45.
Is it safe to say the site has passed this file as safe............

Well...the reason that I want to see the complete file path of the file you are asking about is because what you showed us and what you scanned at VirusTotal was different.

Let's take a look...be sure to use the correct link in regards to what bit system you are running (ie: 32bit or 64bit)

Please download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.
Download Mirror #1
Download Mirror #2

**If you are using a 64bit system please use either of the following links for your download instead:
Link 1
Link 2

  • Right-click and Run as Administrator SystemLook.exe to run it.
  • Copy the content within the following codebox into the main textfield:
    Code:
    :filefind
    *firstrowspartsapp_setup(37).exc
  • Click the Look button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.
Note: The log can also be found on your Desktop entitled SystemLook.txt

It looks as if this file belongs to a program that converts web content into an Android App. for phones, etc.

Have you used anything of that nature recently?

Looks as if the file path (file system location) is:
C:\Users\(Your User Name)\Downloads\firstrowspartsapp_setup(37).exe

Jeffce's post above will show more specific info.

yes it is suppose to be a app for my desktop to view web content.
I am always cautious when downloading app on a desktop vs a smart phone. Should I be more wary?

My Computer

Looks like if the file you submitted to VirusTotal is the actual file you have in question than you should be ok. The results are not showing malware.
