Solved How to get to my HDD?

After reinstalled Vista, my Maxtor listed below is shown working properly in "device manager" but not in "computer". Please lead me to where I can assign a drive name and format the drive. Thanks you.

If the drive has no partition, it will not show up in explorer. To partition an additional drive go to....

Control Panel -> Administartive tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management

The Maxtor wouldn't happen to show as a dynamic disk in Disk Management would it?

I know with XP it couldn't see a dynamic disk to install to (as opposed to a basic disk), and from what I have seen elsewhere Vista is the same. If that is the case the only way I know of to get Vista (and XP) to "see" the dynamic disk is to convert it back to a basic disk. Seen a couple of guides on how to convert back, but most of them result in the loss of all data on the drive.

Thanks for the direction. The Maxtor is shown in Disk Management as a raw disk drive. So I partitioned, assigned drive name, and formated as a newly installed HDD. Thanks again.
