how to register as member in Win 7 ?

I have alumni who are computer illiterate. They used to ask me for solutions.
They don't want to ask questions directly to forums for one reason or another.
( i.e. too technical, don't understand, people are not patient to newbies, etc etc ).
I do my best to help out.

Trouble is, some of them have Win 7.
Most of their problems can be solved by using the Win 7 tutorials posted here. But, there are times I need to ask questions on their behalfs.
I tried to register to Win 7 forum here but I have problem doing that :
( P.S. I detest Ms Answers forums. Would prefer to ask questions here ).

1. I want to use the same username, t-4-2. They won't let me. That sucks.
2. I was asked what Win 7 version I use. I don't have Win 7.

Why can't current member of this vistax64 forum be admitted as member to Win 7 forum automatically ?

We started out here and then upgraded to Win 7 then joined 7 Forums.
Rich, Derek, Dwarf and many others can help your friends with Win 7 problems with just a simple PM to us or posting a new thread.
Great technical help in both places.

I ended up registering in a new username and password to SevenForums.

I am sorry that you have a had a problem with becoming a member of the sevensforum, the part about the sevens not letting you keep the same name as you have here does seem a little strange to me. You see I had no problem what so ever when I became a member here at the vistax64 forum family and I had no problem what so ever signing up there with the same information that I use here, same name (americancritic) and I run windows vista home premium, daugther has windows 7, plus a XP also...

Maybe try again, there might have been a little glich or something I have had a lot of glichs else where and then I wil try again and the no problem after that. LOL
