I am New and need help

Hello,
I am new here and I have been having problems with my laptop for at least a few months now. And now I am fed up with it and just want to do a full system restore. I have no disks or previous system save dates. I talked to one of my friends and he said that i need a disc. I am just coming her for confirmation and or help. I am running a Toshiba Satallite P505D with and AMD Turion X2 dual core processor 4GB of Ram and a 64 bit operating system.

I presume 64bit OS of Windows 7 Home Premium or is it Vista? How long have you owned it and where did you buy it from and did your Toshiba come with recovery discs?
You can search windows for system restore and it will give you info on what to do until a cert. tech comes on line. Have these questions ready when one does as they will need all this info to help you out.

Here is a handy Toshiba PDF. Consult pages 62 and following for the system recovery from the recovery partition.

This is the short version:

1. Make sure the computer is turned off.
2. Press and hold the 0 (zero) key on your keyboard while powering on the computer. When the computer powers on, the Toshiba Recovery Wizard screen displays.
3. Select one of the options, and then click Next. The options are: Recovery of Factory Default Software (recommended) or Erase the hard disk.

PS: you should burn the recovery DVDs from the recovery partition - just to be sure.
