i have 2 problems

ok im new to the forum but not new to vista

my first problem is about a week ago i started getting an error on windows update saying page cannot load .... ive tried everything i could think of short of throwing vista away and trying to locate a windows 7 ....

my second problem is i wanted to do a semi restore from my partition of the back up i made when i reconfigured my laptop in December when i clicked on restore backup files it says recovery not found .... so any ideas

comp is a gateway laptop with 3 gig of ram
os is Vista home

Do you get at on IE for any other browsing pages or just windows upate? or micorsoft page?

2. The restore you want to do is it data restore only or the system restore?
check the location its picking up the backup from!! change it to pick the right location if required..
