I Need Help Please!!

My hard drive crashed(or so I thought), so I went out and got a new one. But before I did, I tried to use the Recovery Disk for my Toshiba Satellite laptop. It worked until about half way through the second disk where it gave me the error 0X800703EE. I asked around and people told me that it was my hard drive. I bought a new one, and then when trying to install again, I got the same error in the same spot on the second Recovery Disk, so I know it's not my hard drive that's faulty. Now when I turn it on it says BOOTMGR is missing. I can't do anything with it at all right now. It's basically being used as a paperweight. Any ideas what to do? I really need my laptop up and running again.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I tried what the post said, but my laptop says it cannot find the file.

Do you have a vista install DVD?
The first post assumed that you had a DVD

All I have is recovery disks. My laptop came pre-installed with Vista, and they don't seem to want to work.

If I were you I would contact my computer manufacturer and buy a install DVD for cost, about $25.00
Then follow these directions.

If that does not work, with the DVD, you can reinstall. If you want to save your stuff before you reinstall you can use ubuntu.

If the first post that I made did not work, I dont know what to do. It does usually work. May I suggest that you slowly try it again, those commands should reapair the boot manager.
