Don't delete those folders since they are probably installed. Instead since there are currently security problems with java you might want to uninstall them using the control panel. You probably don't need java installed unless you are a programmer. Very few websites actually require java to be installed on the client side which would be your computer.

As for showing what is eating your space try this program: WinDirStat - Windows Directory Statistics

I looked in my Control Panel and clicked on the Java icon and it lists the certificates and websites that it uses to on Firefox. Wouldn't I need it to browse Firefox? Under the Options tab in Firefox it has JavaScript enabled (under Contents).

Under the Programs and Features it has Java 7 Update 17 installed but nothing else.

JavaScript is not the same as Java so you don't have to worry about that. Anymore there is special software on the server side that will take java code and compile it into a webpage without requiring java installed on the client side. As for the vulnerabilities there have already been several threads here on that subject in the past few months. Trust me, you probably won't miss it but you can try disabling it before removal if it will make you feel better.

In regards to the .zip files, you'll need to open them and see what's in there and then decide if you need them or not.

I know that Office is a big program but I don't think it would consume most of your hard drive. I only have Excel and Word installed and the main folder is less than 1 GB. What matters is the size of the personal files.

Did you run pcdecrapifier? If so, did you delete any software? I wouldn't delete anything in the first screen. I would only go with the software screen.

I did run the Decrapifier and WinDirStat programs and managed to free up some space, I now have 7.73GB free. I'm not 100% what to keep and what to get rid of in the Programs.

I think you have freed up enough space for normal operations. The only things you should uninstall are programs that you know what they are and don't use. Is your system responding normally now? If so, we can move onto the other problem.

It seems to be doing better now thanks to all who have helped me! Onto my other problem, the random "internet and local access" to "local access only" wifi connection.

Yes when I do a wired connection it works fine as well. The odd thing is that I can still browse the web under "Local Only" but I wasn't sure if this was unsafe. I would disconnect and reconnect my wifi connection to get the "Internet and Local Access" (the little globe icon) status back.

I once ran into that problem, of my WiFi connection occasionally shifting to "Local Access Only". It seemed to be some kind of internal configuration or networking driver version/conflict problem, as I verified that other computers could connect to the WiFi access point without these issues.

If you have any 3rd party software installed to manage wireless networking (like for your internal network card), you may want to try removing it and see if this solves it. And then if not, download the latest from the network card's vendor website and try installing it.

At some point I ended up having to do a complete re-install of the operating system (for other reasons), and when I did this I noticed my WiFi connection issues went away. I was then very cautious about what 3rd party wireless networking drivers/software would be installed on my system.

Well I have the Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card and just checked their site to see if there were any newer drivers for it. I currently have the 4.102.15.56 version and the Dell page has the date 11/13/2006. On the Dell website it has a driver download for 4.170.25.17 that was released on 12/18/2007.

Should I try to update the driver from the properties or just uninstall the current version and download the new one? I don't want to make things worse for myself because I don't have experience so I want to make sure I do this right. Any suggestions? And thanks for replying!

All the symptoms are that you're getting an intermittant wifi connection. Are you connecting via a router? Where is it relative to where you use the laptop?

It's in the same room I'm in, so about 5 feet away. Like I said, when it says Local Access Only I can still use the internet so maybe it's nothing and I should just ignore it.

If the newer driver is for your wifi adapter, then I suggest that you install it.

You could also try unplugging the power from your router and the system down that it's connected to. After about two minutes, plug the power back in and restart. You might also disconnect the CAT5 cable at both the router and your modem and then reconnect, in case there's a minor contact problem.

well this has nothing to do with what ur doing i just cant find out how to make a thread but i cant open anything on my computer like controll pannel or personize it just comes up with errors but yeah check ur time and date that may be the proplem

Ugh when I opened my computer today it had a flickering BSOD. So I restarted it and its been slowwwww as heck. I checked my HD memory and although I havea whooping 12GB available, my restore points are gone and like I said it is slow starting up and loading. I haven't even updated my wireless card yet (I did download it a few minutes ago but haven't installed yet) Yikes!

I'd like you to install the driver for the wifi adapter first and do the other things I requested. Do they help?

Then we'll get into the other problem.

By the way, you probably meant the HD free space versus memory.
