Icon changes in IE7?

Hi

Had some issues with my PC for the last week and just discovered this today - a couple of icons in my favourites and Google browser have changed.

In the first screen snip, Goggle's icon has changed into a red star/ sun from the G we all know. In the second screen snip, eBay has changed into a tower symbol. Also, you can see the same icons in the top of my favourites panel to the left-hand side.

Any ideas? Have i been compromised? I run Vista Ultimate 64 with Ad-aware 2007 and Avast 4.8 plus Defender: all 3 programs are run everyday and nothing's been found recently.

Thanks

Hi Splosher,

Nothing to worry about. The Favicons have just gotten corrupted a bit and need to be cleared to have them reload properly again. You can do this by deleting the Temporary Internet Files. Close and reopen IE7, then see if it they will load properly again. If not, repeat one more time. You can see how in step 3 here if needed.

Again, many thanks Shawn

I only asked whether this was a problem as i run a couple of other people's eBay sites from my PC for a living and one of the accounts got hijacked last night. When i noticed the corrupted icons, i thought maybe they'd got in through my IE7 and the corrupted icons were an indication that i'd been compromised. I've checked and re-checked all day with anti-virus, ad-aware, defender, etc but i appear to be 100%.

Cheers

Your welcome Splosher. I can see how that would be a scary sickening feeling.
