icons flicker

ok, I'll run it on the parents' desktop first, theirs is even worse off performance wise... though theres less to redo if it decides to react badly.

Note that Vista and Win 7 both automatically defrag your hard drive. The best handy utility is the Windows Disc Cleanup utility in Accessories. Run that and reboot. I recommend that everyone run that periodically. I don't know if it does anything different than the CC Cleaner you've already used.

I still think it's in the graphics accelerator or it's interaction with the cpu.
