IE9 and .pdf files

Can anyone tell me why I can't open .pdf files within IE9? I have the latest versions of both programs. I end up with a blank page.

I have the same problem, IE9 and adobe reader do now play nicely together. I use and alternative.

Foxit is recommended by most, but I get a security warning when trying to download. I use Sumutra
