Solved In search of a VM program that works with Extended Kernel

Hello.
First of all, i am new to this forum, i hope i am welcome here, ive been pretty active in Seven Forums.

So,
Both my laptop and my desktop run Windows Vista with Extended kernel. It's great so far but i only need it for an up-to-date browser.
So, i am aware that Virtualbox doesn't work on Extended Kernel for obvious reasons.
But i am wondering is there an alternative here? Will anything work, such as VMware, QEMU or older versions of Virtualbox? (im fine with old versions)

Thanks in advance.

You're in uncharted territory there. You have to consider not only an old OS with an unofficial kernel but also the processor especially with VMWare. I found out after installing 10 that they stopped supporting my processor (a first gen i7) with version 14. You'll just have to play around and see what's stable and what supports your processor. Consider that you'll likely have to go with older versions for any platform. Your processor with a core 2 is even older than mine. Sorry but I can't help you further. I didn't even find a support forum to refer you to.

Hi townsbg,
i found out old versions of Virtualbox still kind of work,i tested MS-DOS and some other old OSes they got weird errors often but i switched to vanilla Vista. I now use r3dfox with an old Chrome Theme (Geckium) instead of the non-native ESR 115 (which was also about to go out of support) and therefore i don't need extended kernel. Also the Extended kernel triggered Graphics-related Bluescreens often especially when watching videos on the web (i did try h264ify to force YouTube not embed VP9/VP8, no difference at all) and sometimes if i leave the computer idle for a bit. Its not worth breaking a ton of features of the OS for a single program.

Thus, i declare the problem resolved, and this is what i believe is the truth:
Don't use Extended Kernel, it breaks too much stuff to be truly beneficial, especially if you're comfortable with older programs. Plus, it's horribly obsolete now ( don't expect new programs to function ) since the project has stopped receiving updates since 2023 and now there is this thing called "Second System" which i think is behind a paywall (it is in a Patreon page requiring a subscription from what i figured) and looks sketchy, plus the CORPORATION as they declare themselves look pretty questionable and don't have any reputation whatsoever, nonetheless, nobody uses this new corporate software which almost looks AI-generated.
