Installations not completely stored

Since a problem with iTunes, new installations are not being fully recognized. iTunes does a quick configuration when I click the icon before coming up. Then it will not store authorization on this computer and allow me to transfer iPad apps. I have tried fully removing all iTunes apps and reinstalling to no avail. This install problem also has happened to subsequent installations of other new applications. They try to reinstall or recoonfigure each time I boot up. Unfortunately, I do not have helpful restore points, Microsoft Fix-It did not solve it and various registry fix programs have failed.

I had realized that there was an iTunes problem and have also lost my optical drive. I took it in for repair and the technician said that the motherboard has a problem because the drive does not even show up when just booting to system setup. However, the install and authorization problem has appeared since then. I fear a corrupt registry setting. The article does not really have a solution for this problem, which goes beyond iTunes. Thanks for the response, though.

You can go back to before the problem, with System Restore, and the Reg will be fixed.
