Solved Intel GL960 CPU and RAM upgrade advice

i recently bought an Intel core 2 duo T7700 and 4GB of RAM (2x2GB @800MHz) for my acer aspire 5315 that has an Intel GL960 as chipset, i coulnt find any information on support that i could 100% be sure it was correct, but some guy that did an upgrade on the same laptop that the CPU i bought was compatible, in fact a lot of users upgraded to a T7500 without a problem, the thing that i am concerned with is the RAM support, some users got the machine to boot with 3GB without a problem, but i went for 4GB since the kit came in that size and i wanted to push this machine to its limits even further, if anyone knows about this and has an answer if whether my upgrade is going to work or i am going to be left in the dark please let me know, and also i would really like to know that if it works, the RAM is going to run at the full 800MHz (since my machine supports that FSB and the CPU too) or i am going to be limited by the limit that HWinfo64 tells me, 667MHz.

P.D. i run the latest BIOS version 1.45
Also i would like to know if i have to reinstall windows after the CPU upgrade (i know you dont for RAM) or if it is going to work perfectly with the current installation
And i would like to know if my machine supports UEFI and GPT, HWinfo64 says it does and in fact i was able to boot a GPT Windows 8 installation media without a problem but the Windows Vista GPT USB didnt boot and it just gave up and went to the install in the SSD

Translation for the pictures: "Capaz" means Capable, and "No presente" means Not present or not available

I don't have time to look at everything but this- Acer Aspire 5315 | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com says your computer only supports 2 GB of RAM.
i know, but other sites like theese claim it supports 4GB- RAM Upgrades | Aspire 5315 Serie - max up to 4GB
and some people got it working with 3GB without a problem like the this pic from someone1667071687017.png
And some guy got it to run with 5GB of RAM somehow - Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T9300 @ 2493.6 MHz - CPU-Z VALIDATOR

I looked at 4 different flavors of the 5315 and all say they were issued with 1 GB of 533 MHZ SDRAM. One says- "upgradeable to 2 GB using two soDIMM modules"

mine came with 1GB at 667MHz, Hwinfo64 claims that it supports that speed with the correct CPU installed, the Celeron 540 i have does not, but the T7700 does support up to 800MHz
i think that after seeing an user with 5GB of ram its more than clear that it probably supports 4GB, back to the other concerns from my original post:

I don't know if anyone can answer you questions concerning the components you want to change except possibly Acer. In regards to the Vista GPT USB installation, do you have SecureBoot disabled in the BIOS?

It's in the BIOS, at least on this machine which will be 15 years old in January. It has to be disabled to do some things which require a SID which might not be listed by Windows for the SecureBoot option. You can tell I'm not an expert (not even close).

Windows Vista GPT USB didnt boot
what do you mean by a gpt usb?

just format the usb fat32

copy the contents of the 64 bit vista iso onto it.

copy the bootx64.efi file into the usb stick EFI\boot folder

power on your machine and from the one time boot menu select the efi entry for the usb stick. The usb stick must be booted in efi mode to install in efi mode.

i use RUFUS to make my bootable USBs and when i choose an x64 Windows Vista or later ISO it lets me choose between GPT and MBR, if i choose MBR the installation media is going to tell me that the drive selected is GPT and cannot be installed, or if it is MBR, it will work normally, and the same with GPT, i select the ISO, choose GPT and it makes the installation media for me, but maybe this has some sort of problem since Rufus injects some of their software, particullarly something that tells you (only for GPT) if your PC is compatible with GPT or if it is in the correct mode (Legacy vs UEFI), in my case i booted accidentally from the GPT USB on another computer that doesnt support GPT and rufus told me, but the laptop that supposedly supports UEFI refuses to boot, it instead tries and after a second or two, it boots vista from the SSD, maybe this approach has a problem and today after getting back home i will try your method.

I press F12 to get to the boot menú, select the USB and when I doo that, it gives me a black screen (this is the part where it should say "press any key to boot from USB") a white cursor appears and after two seconds it switches to the SSD and boots from it

I also tried making a UEFI VM and when I loaded the Vista ISO something similar happened, it boots from LAN, like there was no ISO to begin with

i know about plop, but thats not the problem, i can boot from a Vista MBR USB, even an 8.1 MBR and 10 MBR and GPT USB, the problem is with Vista GPT only, it can boot from USB exept Vista GPT, and no, my BIOS is supposedly UEFI compliant but there is not an option to change that, i assume it does that automatically when it detects GPT, maybe i can try booting from Win 8.1 GPT and then replacing the installation files or install 8.1 and then downgrade to vista, but i dont currently have enough time to experiment

The upgrade worked, the laptop accepted the 4GB of RAM without asking, and the CPU too, but Vista didnt boot, i need to reinstall it, im going to try the GPT solution you gave me and lets hope for the best
EDIT: the laptop boots but it does not support the 4GB of RAM, however it supports 3GB without a problem and i didnt even had to reinstall windows
