hi, i hope every one is doing fine

windows vista 32
if i start download anything then a download window (box) appear "download window popup appear"

it shows the completed result in %, wen the item is downloaded it start scanning

wen the scan is done the item in download window disappear

a solution will be appreciated

Is there an option on the download window that says, "close this window when download complete", if there is, uncheck it and the window should stay open after the scan.

Actually, they are what saves your information on sites. If you delete third-party cookies, you will be logged out of sites you checked "remember me", you will have to specify your location in support sites, and lose your saved online games.

yes the window remain open but the item in the download window disappear, how ever i can locate the item that i have download in my downloads folder.
still its not really practical to search through my whole computer again and again though

In firefox you can save the file have you checked your downloads area in your user area

Go to Tools and open options.
This is how your page should look.



If you look halfway down you will see the option of where to place your downloads, i like mine to go to a desktop folder, so mine go to "C:\Users\stoney\Desktop\WinRAR".

1. Create a new folder on your desktop.
2. Go to tools > options
3. Set the downloads to be saved to your new desktop folder. (click browse and navigate to the new folder).
4. Download something and test.

wel i try to dowload in loc desktop now another box opens (popups),
[fire clam problem:
"The program executable (null) could not be found.
Make sure that ClamAV/ClamWin is installed properly and check the Fireclam settings."]

Wrong, you only need cookies not third party cookies
Third party is not the site you go to, it is all the sites that link to it,and you don't need them at all.

i was gone to tools and set the download in desktop-folder like stony said,
and also i set download in desktop i download in both locations same thing happend a weird box opend
it says:

To be honest I would change that WinClam program for another like Microsoft Security Essentials by uninstalling it, maybe with Revo uninstaller.

I have windows home 32 bit
I have a virus av8 and this morning i downloaded the microsoft security essential pack and it took it out. then i was taking out several other security progams, it froze and it crashed. i got the blue screen several times, it did like 4 system restores and came back on. microsoft program gone? now it won't let me download anything. i use IE and I save it to downloads. once it complets it vanishes. it won't save, it's not hidden. it won't let me download crap?
i need help and be gentle i don't know alot about this stuff

SOLUTION when Downloads disappear in Firefox:

1-On the address bar write:
about:config
2-Confirm you will enter firefox advanced settings.
3-Locate this string:
browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone
4- It should be "true". Right click on it e choose first option (Change/Alternate) to false.
5- Restart Firefox.

Worked for me. It's an issue with some versions of Avast / AVG with Firefox.
When trying to scan for viruses, it gives an error (invisible) and deletes the file.
