Using vista about 3 or 4 years ago I got on face book to see someone from years back. They posted a link for some music for me t hear,so I clicked theses links but they played nothing.jokes on me now that they have some inside access to a lot of stuff on my comp. looking back Im sure it was thoses links. I just want to know what that is called ,is it called crossite scripting or dowloads from a site for hackers What all is involved in that process?

Depends on the actual infection. Odds are they automatically create a post with a disguise address. Quite simple to do on forums

Try those 2 links..

So the disguised link lead to a d/l and blam, you're tricked.

Thankyou pat, I would assume the trojan that was installed came from a webite, they wouldnt write it most likely. It would be called a script kiddy from what I have read.

Quite a common exploit. From the server side the damage they could do is huge. As part of my college work I exploited a java vulnerability to perform a similar task. With it I was able to upload a script to the victim machine and execute it. If that was a virus that relies on user interaction I could essentially do it for them.

Tis a cruel world out there! Be careful :geek:
