I uses Acer Aspire 5920, I found in my Device Manager a named Microsoft ISATAP Adapter device driver error exclamated with yellow which is an indication that all is not well. I did not install any adapter to my notebook computer, so how come about this strange device in my system? Please if anyone out there has experience this same problem, please advice on how to solve it, I've asked windows to look for the driver to the Microsoft ISATAP Adapter in the internet but the result was not successful. Where can I find and download the driver for this Microsoft ISATAP Adapter? Please mail me the link. Peter Agboro

Hi, manpita, and welcome to the forums.

When you state you have not installed any drivers, have you installed any hardware at all? if not I'd contact your Acer tech support about this issue.

Hi Johngalt

Thank you for your interest in trying to resolve my Acer Aspire 5920 Notebook (Laptop) Computer. To your question wether I installed any additional hardware into the system, the answer is no. The system came with almost every peripheras that one will need for good computing, Bluetooh, Gi-ga Lan, Web Cam, Firewire, Card Reader, PCI Express Card etc.

Please help contact Acer support to see if they can provide the driver for this Micosoft ISATAP Adapter

My Regards

Peter Agboro

you'll have to do that yourself as you are the owner of the laptop.

But if everything works, then I would not worry about it - just try to burn a CD or DVD and see if it works - if so, then contact Acer via email and find out why this exists - you may just need to reinstall a driver because of a Windows Update....like SP1....
