Microsoft Office Security Updates

I have Microsoft Office 2007 installed on my computer and ever since October of last year all of the Microsoft Office Security updates have been failing. They always fail and stay on my updates list for the next time. Any program associated with Microsoft Office like Excel, Outlook etc. or just Microsoft Office System updates. Also this is not associated with updates but everytime I install Realplayer onto my notebook almost immediately or if I restart my computer when I try to open Realplayer it acts like it has been deleted and wants to search for the program because it cannot be found even tho I just installed realplayer.
Thank you if you can help!!

Hello and welcome to the Vista Forums!

Are they all failing with a particular error? Can you please tell me which one, as this will provide a good starting point and angle of attack.

Thanks!

Richard

Hi. Thanks and glad to be here. The error code is 646 and I guess the reference is KB2289158.
Thanks for the feedback!

Hi Kent, you should visit this site here(Microsoft) and click the "fix it for me" link, it edits the registry keys that have been altered over failed installations, makes for interesting reading as well

Hope this helps
