Solved Modern Minecraft (1.19 & Up) On Vista?

has anyone gotten minecraft to fully work on windows vista yet? I know @k4sum1 from eclipse was working on porting java over to windows xp/vista at one point but the past two year there's been nothing on it has the project been scrapped? if anyone could help with this it would be much appreciated
