The Department of Homeland Security has just issued a warning about security flaws in the latest version of Java. Homeland Security strongly suggests that Java be disabled. To all my friends at the Forum, I suggest that you heed this important advice. Java is required on a very few websites, most of us will not even miss it, I know that I don't

Is this forum the best place to get the most recent update as to when a fix is available? With Java disabled it will not seek a automatic update.

The most current update has security problems, disable Java.
You can watch this forum to give notice when Java is safe. You must go to the Java site for the most current updates.

What's the latest safe version? I saw this at the bottom of the wikipedia page:

From everything that I understand, there is no version of Java that should be used at the time being. That is what I am recommending at the malware removal forums as well.

This is pathetic. I don't use Java for anything that I know of.....EXCEPT: A site that I have to go to everyday at while I am at work (to fill in info on shipments for this particular company) is built completely on Java. First of all, it's bad enough that it's slow as @#^$%, and now this crap?
BTW, this "company" is a worldwide known("We bring good things to life" hint hint"), and you would think they could actually have a website that functions worth a crap. I wonder if this issue will make them finally change their idea of a "website".

Yes...evidently Java has been able to fix a portion of the problem with the newest release of Jave 7/11 but the exploit is there still. For the time being I would not use Java until they have been able to find a complete fix.
