Mouse freezes - having to switch off notebook regularly

Can anyone help?

For the past month or so every time I am in the middle of doing something - usually on the Internet - the cursor stops moving and nothing happens when I press the Winkey or CTRL+ALT+DELETE.

I've done several system scans but found nothing. The mouse is built in and not a USB mouse and I am using Vista Home Premium on a Del Inspiron 6400.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Welcome,

Can be memory or other causes. Fill out your system specs and I will try to help.

While you get the information that I need, you can download this. You may want to run it overnight, because it needs several runs to be accurate.
