mousepad scroll not working after Vista reinstall

I reinstalled Vista seemingly without issue, but then realised my mousepad scroll function wasn't working.

I've checked all the settings for the mouse (although couldn't find anything about "mouse pad" settings) and couldn't find anything about scrolling.
I got windows to check the driver for updates and it is apparently up to date and "working properly".

Can someone tell me how I can get this working please?

Most likely you have to visit the PC Manufacturer's support website and get the driver package that they offer (for your touchpad).

I'd also check your Device Manager to see if any drivers are missing/not functioning (go to Start, type in "devmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter).
