My friend lost everything encluding product key.

Hi all my friend has vista Basic 32 Bit on her Dell Desktop. Her computer crashed and so she had to replace the computer but now as she is installing her Microsoft 2003 suite with word 2002 on it and she cannot find her product key and it is not like she can scan her computer for it because her computer is no more.

She loves that word product that is why she has not upgraded.

Is there another way to find it with Microsoft?

May I remind you that Office 2003 is ending support as of next year and any security vulnerabilities will not be patched from there on therefore I would strongly advise upgrading if you can however I understand that it may not be the most convenient at the moment.

Depending on how office was installed to begin with will determine if and how you can retrieve your product key. Microsoft have released an article explaining how - Replace a lost or damaged Microsoft Office 2007 or 2003 product key

Other than this it is with deep regret that retrieving the product key of an office product not installed is highly unlikely
