I have a 2wire router, and this always happens whenever I attempt to use the wireless internet. If I use an Ethernet cable, this issue never appears, however, I'd like to no have to use one, as I use a laptop. This issue never appears for my Macbook pro, and if it ever has any internet issues (it disconnects), it quickly sorts itself out.
I have an Asus G50V laptop and am running Vista Home Premium x64. The issue typically occurs like so: I will be browsing the internet, and all of a sudden, a page simply won't load, and my browser (Chrome) displays the usual "You are not connected to the internet" error. I look at my internet connection, and it says connected. To solve the problem, I must disconnect, and then reconnect to the network. Some days this solves the problem in just one try; others, I have to disconnect and reconnect multiple times before receiving a connection once more. The issue usually occurs every 20 minutes to an hour, more if luck is on my side.
Sometimes I will leave my PC on overnight in order to download a game through Steam, however I will wake up, and nearly nothing has been downloaded due to my internet disconnecting.
I'd rather not have to set up downstairs, where my router is, and it would be quite a pleasure to have it be able to work wirelessly.
Ideas, friends? Thank you for your time.
