The track is gonna melt right where this happened.. geez..

This has got to be the absolute dumbest thing I have ever seen happen, in ANY form of racing.

Was only 41 or so laps left to race. First time I have ever seen anything like this . They have to fix the track now.

I would put my money on it that the race is over. If there's anything wrong with the track, plus slight chance of rain, fixing the melted safer barrier. Not looking like it's going to go any further. Hope i'm wrong, but burning jet fuel and asphalt don't mix.

Not to be morbid but I find more excitement in the crashes that in the race itself because frankly I'm not one for watching cars go around the track 500 times. For me it starts to get old and boring.

I am actually surprised that the Track did not melt . Gonna be more racing for the last 40 laps . it looks like.

I just saw a you tube video and it certainly looked like a very hot fire. Sounds like an exciting race with first a multi-car crash and now jet fuel.

Actually , my fav came in 2nd Dale jr.. although , i do like watching Wild Thing drive.. LOL

I was a Jr fan after Sr died, but not so much now. My favorite is Kenseth. He raced about fifteen minutes from where I live here in Wisconsin. watched him plenty of Friday nights. Meet him one time.

Yeah, Phx is one of them tracks I really don't enjoy watching for some reason. Although, it's still better than the cookie-cutter tracks( Michigan, Cali, Chicago). I won't be really too interested until they get to Bristol and Tally.


EDIT: Btw....I have grown to like the truck series more than any of them over the last couple years. Always more exciting racing in that series.

Am hoping Danica does well.. and yeah. they widened an area of track and of course. racers are taking every inch and still scrapping it.. LOL

AVONDALE, Ariz. -- Elliott Sadler took the lead with 25 laps left in the Bashas' Supermarkets 200 at Phoenix International Raceway and held off hard-charging Brad Keselowski to win for the first time at PIR and the sixth time in his Nationwide Series career.

Defending series champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. ran third, followed by rookie Austin Dillon and Kevin Harvick, who dominated the race but fell victim to pit strategy in the late going.

Driving for Richard Childress Racing after selling his own team to RCR last year, Harvick took control of the race on Lap 53, when he passed Hamlin for the lead four circuits after a restart. He pulled away to an advantage of more than six seconds before Kenny Wallace's crash into the Turn 4 wall caused the second caution of the afternoon.

21 30 7 Danica Patrick Not too bad.. at least she finished.

I know i'm getting a little picky, but man, could they put something like rumble-strips in so they actually race on the track? It's pretty lame what they are doing in that one corner.
