Need help with printer

I have an Oki C5500 that has decided to not work. It has worked fine in the past, but now will not print. I tried to print test page and get an error that says test page failed error 0x00000057. I tried to download the microsoft fix it thing and that won't download. I also can't download windows updates

Have you tried getting the newest drivers from oki?

Try redfoing the driver, they sometimes get messed up.

I have done this several times and it hasn't fixed the problem. My husband recently downloaded some stuff and I had hijackers and ended up working with someone in bleepingcomputer.com to get rid of all of it. Noticed afterward that printer didn't work so not sure what happened.

You probably don't want to hear this, but if you had "Hyjackers". I'd a reinstall of Vista, after you saved your important stuff..

Mainly as you can almost never tell what really got played with.

I'm unfortunately not great on printers and error codes. So I hope someone more knowledgable can help.

I have no idea what the problem is, I just know I'm getting super frustrated and waiting for help/answers is worse. The Oki printer is the only printer that doesn't work. I have a Kodak and Lexmark printer installed also and they work fine. Of course it's the printer that I use for my business that is down. Go figure.

If you are sure the "Malware" is cleared. Just uninstall & reinstall the printer.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled more than once and it doesn't fix the problem. I can't download the fix it thing from microsoft either because of some shell downloading error and I also can't download certain updates. Not sure if this is all because of the same reason or not.

Why haven't you updated to SP2 and IE9?
