Need help with printer

You can do a system restore at any point without fear of losing personal files. Perhaps you're talking about reformatting the drive and reinstalling. Then you would definitely want to backup your personal files to an external device or discs. Don't forget to find and record the serial numbers for all the programs you would want to reinstall. I have a printout with all that information. No, computers didn't replace paper.

What is the exact message you get with the 0x00000057 error?

The system restore didn't work (I'm not that lucky)! I was going to do a complete system recovery. I wrote down all my the programs that I have installed and there are only a couple that I'm worried (one being my Embird embroidery program as it is a pain to reinstall).

The error message states "Test page failed to print. Would you like to see the print troubleshooter? Error 0x00000057) Clicking yes only tells me to check for paper jams, out of paper, low toner, etc.

I just looked at the manual for your printer. In the Information menu you can print a demo page. I would try that with and without the printer connected to your computer.

Since you've also installed SP2, you might disconnect your printer and reboot. Then connect it again to see if it reinstalls your printer software.

I had to bite the bullet and do a full system recovery. There were other programs, etc that started acting up and as I'm not quite sure what the problem is I felt that was the best solution. I am now working on installing programs and updates and GUESS WHAT - My printer is installed and works wonderfully!! Thank you both for the support that you provided! I really appreciate it!

As i've repeatedly had said, The virus you had mucked up system files. This is what they do.

Its not magic that a re-installing the OS allows to let things work properly.

I'm hoping you'e learnt alot in trying to fix this, as it the issues, as this was a huge time investment for you, with no payout.

When dealing with issues like this after removing a virus. Reinstalling is always near the top of repair choices. Especially when the item is related to a buisness.

Glad youre up and running though.
