Need the charge battery sound working?

Hi guys.

I've search the forum but I can't find anything relevant.

I don't like leaving my laptop on charge all the time and I sometimes forget to switch the battery charger on and Windows shuts down.

Now in Control Panel - Sounds you can set various sounds for various operations I made my own Chargebattery.wav and enabled it for Critical Battery Alarm and Low Battery Alarm and they both test ok. When the battery gets low it doesn't play the wave file.

Does anyone know why it doesn't sound on a low battery or am I missing something in the sound settings?

Well I posted this thread a week ago and 80 users have read it but no one has made a comment.

As anyone any suggestions to try?

I've downloaded Battery Meter Gadget but thats only a visual warning so you would have to have the sidebar on top all the time plus it doesn't play any sounds?

You made your Chargebattery.wav and you had tested it.

But, what if you use the default Windows Battery Critical.wav ?
Check if you get the sound that way.
If it does play the default sound when battery is low, then there must be something wrong with your " customized " sound.

Yes I made the Chargebattery.wav with 2nd Speech Center as the default Windows Battery Low.wav and Windows Battery Critical.wav are just bleeps mine says your battery needs charging. When you choose Chargebattery.wav in sounds and click the play button it plays correctly as do all the other sounds selected.

Update: The Battery Meter Gadget I downloaded does do simple bleeps as the battery gets low so that isn't too bad but I would like my Chargebattery.wav to play.

I also made a Trash.wav to empty the recycle bin and that works great.

Ok I've put it back to the default sounds to see it those play?

I've added Chargebattery.wav in the attachment if someone wants to try it on theirs?

I put back the default Battery Low.wav and Windows Battery Critical.wav but Battery Meter still played the beeps. I removed Battery Meter and tried it again and it still didn't play the default sounds it just shows the yellow message at 10 minutes and the red one at 6 minutes so this system is obviously crap.

If anyone wants the Trash.wav that says your recycle bin has been emptied let me know, that works.

It doesn't matter no one has replied only a banned member

Control panel wav test plays perfect

That is the same on any Windows OS I've tried that on all of them its crap, all sounds play not when they are supposed to play

Have you really been working on this for 10 years? I think you never got a response because testing it requires someone to actually let their battery go low at a convenient time. As I understand you, the .wav you mentioned works correctly.

I've updated my signature so it shows the current computer spec as the Vista 32bit SP2 laptop packed up 10 years ago

As I'm a member of all the 4 forums

That is the same on any Windows OS I've tried that on all of them its crap, all sounds play not when they are supposed to play

Maybe the windows sounds in the sound mixer are low or mute, or maybe you put the critical battery alert in 0% or something like that and never plays

I asked about 10 years based on the dates of your posts here.

Since you have Win 10, perhaps you should ask here- Ten Forums - Windows 10 Help and Support Forum

even though you say you have tried it on more than one OS.
