does creating a network bridge on my computer allow me to connect another LAN cable into a second device straight from my computer?

because i want to connect my LAN cable into my PS3, but the cable is too short to reach the PS3. so i wanted to have it so the internet connection goes from my computer into the PS3.

if thats correct, what component would i need to make it happen?

No.. connect your ps3 to the modem router wired or wirelessly.. or use a switch..

thats a switch which multiplies the connection ports on your router..

oh just more ports, well thats not what i need. i already have a port open in my router, its just the cable wont reach my PS3. so i wanted to know if it was possible to make it so my connection from my computer is extended somehow. well whatever thanks anyway

ohh you can still connect your ps3 wirelessly... check the diagram..

yea i know i can connect it wirelessly, and it is. but the problem is that the wireless is very unstable and i cant move my router any closer. i get about 50% signal strength on average and it disconnects every now and then

You would need to turn the machine into a router which is extremely dangerous for security. So the easiest option would be to get a longer cable in this situation. Hope this helps.
