Network/IP Fail 'Cannot communicate with Primary DNS Server (vista)

There was no setup disc with the router, we just plugged it in and found the wireless network and then connected to it (or didn't connect as is the case here).
The router is a Cisco EPC2425.

Townsbg - I entered the first command but when I try and enter "netsh ip reset reset.log" it says:

The following command was not found: ip reset reset.log.

And Yard Dog, I will go through these websites and post back.

Yeah, i am very inclined to go with a manual setup procedure at this time as you have not done so yet. Post back when able on how that works out .

Sorry its taken so long to update! I've just been looking at this problem again today, and called the phone company for some help. When they took off the encryption code I could connect to this network wirelessly on the computer that I have had problems with.
As soon as the encryption code is put back into place, the network is still there in my sharing center, still showing full amount of network strength, but when I try and connect it just says 'cannot connect to *network*'.
It seems like some issue with dealing with/accepting an security encryption code!!
It's a 9 digit long encryption code if that makes any difference? As I said, my macbook has no problems connecting.
It is a WPA-Personal security and a AES encryption type. Should I just be looking to switch the security type or encryption type?

Seeing as how this was the top Google result for the exact problem I was experiencing and I spent 4+ hours researching the issue which led to its resolution, I registered to post this fix:

The issue, for me, was my adapter's driver. I had an old driver. My Atheros wireless adapter would not recognize WPA2 security. There were two options: Log in to my router and change my security to WEP (and slowing my speed in the process) or update my drivers. After searching for quite some time, I found my drivers here (of course, your adapter might be a different one):

Quick tip: Atheros AR5007 wifi and Linksys routers - Roy Tanck's weblog

TL;DR: Update your drivers or use WEP security.
