New mobo and CPU

Hey guys!

So I've just built a new pc for my friend. Now as a 'payement' I can use his Pentium 4 3.2 GHz + mobo in my current pc, which I recon will be a biig difference with my old Athlon 64 4000+... Just to make sure: I have to make a back-up of my files before and reinstall vista after installing the new mobo and CPU, right?

Yes, that is correct.
You just need to clarify one thing, though. Is the P4 a 32-bit or 64-bit processor? I don't use Intel myself, but as far as I am aware the P4 was released in both 32-bit and 64-bit variants (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).
When you have reinstalled Vista, you will have to reactivate using the phone option.

Well, I don't know really, is there a way I can find out by looking at the processor?

Here's a pic of it, I'll do some research myself, have to find out what mobo it is he gave me anyway..

I thought P4 was only 32bit...

how old is it? The new ones might be 64-bit but I am pretty damn sure the older ones are 32-bit.

Jah it's an older one, but I won't use it anyway, because it doesn't have a PCI-e x16 slot for my 9800GTX+, only VGA... darned, well going to have to stick with the old Athlon for while longer then..
