While it is in the process of
forcing users of its IM client to upgrade to the latest version of the client-based application, Microsoft has introduced a new version of Windows Live Messenger. Designed in order to allow end users to “IM anywhere,” the new flavor of the IM client is exclusively web-based, and is currently available only via the
Microsoft Singapore website for Web Messenger (via
LiveSide). The project is currently in beta development stage, and there’s no telling whether the Redmond company will expand its availability worldwide, or if it is running a test of a localized version, or whether this is simply an independent project from Microsoft Singapore.
