I recently had to reinstall Vista Home Premium 32bit.
I have everything back in place except the audio
The Audio is listed as a
5.1 CH windows vista premium level HD audio
(via vt 1708S audio codec)
and I believe is integrated into the motherboard.
I have a red cross beside the speaker icon on the task bar.
And when I hover it say
"No audio output device is installed"
However, when I go into the section of Device Manager under Sound etc
it is listed as High Definition Audio device
and using 'properties' it tells me the device is working properly
and has the correct driver
I have tried updating the driver,
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the device
I have search for new hardwear
I haver tried the microsoft repair tool to no avail.
It was working perfectly, I reinstalled Vista, and it ceased to work.
Any suggestion of where to from here would be appreciated.
Regards
