There is no right or wrong answer, of course, but I prefer Seven. Bought computer with Vista preinstalled just over 2 years ago. I took advantage of the pre buy offer for 7 ($49.99) included tax and shipping. Had to take advantaged. Have never looked back.

I had a free version given to me I tried it but didn't like it.
I gave it to a friend and he has used it since and is very happy with it. I'm happy for him and glad to be using Vista.

I got to read more carefully, as my Win Vista Premium offers the Snipping Tool.

Hey Guys,
Might have found a new candidate for the 'snipping tool Alternative'.?

'The Zapgrab screen snipping tool'

I logged onto their website @ zapgrab.com and read the blurb, it looked ok ish to me so thought I would download & have a butchers (uk slang for look).

On looking for the FREE download I passes adverts for Win7 , Vista @ $6.99, thought no that's not it.

Eventually I found it, not really prominent, right download, zip - quick. Done.

Back to desktop, open zip, do read me first = ah! need licence key to open it return to website & obtain. Ok!
Back at the website, maybe I got the wrong page!!.<>but there it was, available for $6.99.

So please if anyone has found the correct site/page to download a working version FREE would they please let me know. But it was correct it is FREE to download. Mmm.

I've just been over to 'the other side', Shh! Win & Forum!! Just to cdheck it out you understand?

Well I was looking into their General Discussions section (did they copy from us?), aanyway there was a query
aboutr Screen Capture that was being ably answered by no other than our own Brink!

Now here is the interesting bit, the link he recommended was to introduce a screenshot download of non other than MWSnap, yes I tell no lie.

So I figured if it was good enough for Brink to recommend, its good enough for me to recommend, that it should be a contender for the alternative 'Snapping tool for Home Basic'

Of course, along with Richc's nomination, and any others that are brought forwasrd.

You don't have an actual problem except deciding which free program to use.
Just set a restore point and give them a try.
If you don't like it you can always restore your system.
