I have an hp g6032ea laptop with vista home premium.
it was recently dropped and now on start up all we get is a black screen with operating system not found.
I suspect that the hard drive is either scratched or cracked as it makes a rather ominous clicking sound.
I have a brand new 160gb hard drive which i have fitted and a recovery disc which i purchased from HP as the machine did not come with one.
when the new drive is inserted if I boot from the recovery cd it starts the process then puts up a message stating that the laptop is not supported by the recovery disc and switches itself off.
does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?
this is driving me nuts and it will shortly be leaving by the nearest window
