intel still bury the competition

what they dont say is that once you push a 400FSB through the little baby E2180 it will out perform any AMD B.E. chip regardless of cache & use far less power.

intel’s Nehalem, known as Core i7 , will change everything in the higher end of the market in just a few weeks. AMD will then need something and quick. The X2 line-up needs a much needed refresh, same goes for Phenom.

no..... it wont change a thing AMD will still be trailing behind, just a lot further..lol

i like AMD .... they produce some great tech for a low price, but at the moment they are drowning next to the MONSTER that is intel..

Mitch, you are right. I personally prefer Intel, they have the legs on AMD, but I build a lot of "Home Use" systems for people who don't want the souped up Ferrari. They invariably go for AMD. They get the "most bang for their buck" and a good reliable system that will do for 95% of the population at a low cost. That's why AMD does so well.

Speaking about hardware. Anybody noticed the prices these days? Scaree! An AMD x5200 2 weeks ago cost me AU$85. Today AU$129.35. They can run games fine, but AMD's cause much more of a bottleneck than Intels, which is the main problem. Especially when in SLI.

I don't think AMD will be coming out with a counter for the Core i7 for a while yet.

And as for the pioneer, my bet is Gunther will be on DDR3 first, he seems to get all the good stuff first :P

The dollar has dropped to $0.65 against the US$ and it will become increasingly more difficult to maintain prices. We are working with our suppliers to cushion the effects of the major change in the exchange rate but we will be forced to pass on variations as they occur.
As existing stocks are used and new stock is imported the prices will increase by up to 30% or more.
For those who are not aware of the way the IT industry works, all international trade and purchases are carried out in US$ and therefore the value of shipments of IT products imported into Australia are affected by exchange rates between the Australian Dollar and US Dollar.
