PC Metacritic User Score on MW2

Just wanted to share this. It's pretty crazy how PC gamers rated this game a 1.3 . Maybe it's because of the removal of dedicated servers, mods, leaning, the console and others. Maybe it was because it sucks. Maybe it was for fun.

Even with this though the game as we all know is selling very well.

im picking up my copy in the next few days.......IW dont really care about the PC gamers, its all about console revenue


i'll stick to cod4 for MP & just clock SP on cod6 & then sell it.

Unfortunately that seems to be the way things are going.

It seems they are following UBIsoft in the way they are not supporting MP play and porting their games from consoles to PC instead of the other way around.

I was also looking forward this game and as Campaign only Gamer, I may not be as burnt as some of you MP folks but, if I can't get a hold of a demo, I will be waiting for it to hit the 5 to 10 dollar mark on the bargain bin, which btw... it won't take long though.

On the other side of the token, this means I don't have to invest any monies in PC upgrades for a long time to come.

I am sure sad though, OF-DR was not what I expected either.

I guess I have to stat looking into a Wii and play golf/bowling/tennis with my daughter.

do not knock this game until you have tried it , i cancelled my preorder too then though a very complicated and boring series of events ended up getting a free copy posted through my letterbox at midnight on the day of release (dont ask )

the single player is the best i have ever played , COD 4 was a previous fav this is better.

The multiplayer is fantastic , i was VERY surprised at IW.net , it works very well and the friends/invite system is perfect for gaming with your mates , sometimes you will encounter a laggy game and sometimes VERY rarely due to the length of a game you will get a 5 second delay while the host migrates (this has happend to me once in abot 50 games i have encountered one laggy match in them 50 games , not bad considering were hosting these games ourselves)

yes dedicated servers would be better and the max number of players is 18 (9v9 which is actually perfect for the maps they have got the balance bang on) but its still very good

there are loads of weapons and skills to unlock much more than before and new and customisable kill streak rewards

i was a very vocal about the fact that they were not planning dedi servers and i was convinced i wouldnt like it , i tried not to like it..........

Play the game then come back and tell me you still dont like it

I will get the game, but only when it come down in price. (typical jock).
I have to say I'm surprised the MP is working so well, the single player is a bit short though, or so the reviews say, about six hours max.

I know i will like it, it just gives me the hump that IW are taking mick out of PC gamers, i always do cut my nose off to spite my face, a terrible trait but i cant help it. :sa:

6 hours for a normal gamer is 18 for me and thats a LONG game

and its nice to har a Jock call himself tight................saves me the bother , short arms deep pockets

i know your big into matches on COD4, but how does it compare to its predecessor.....

i mean, is it basically COD4 with better visuals (matching game play), or is it a completly new beast to learn to master...

Gamespot actually rated the console versions 9.0 while they gave the PC version an 8.5. It seems major websites are taking notice of the PC beating by Activision too.

i know your big into matches on COD4, but how does it compare to its predecessor.....

i mean, is it basically COD4 with better visuals (matching game play), or is it a completly new beast to learn to master...

Its differant to COD 4 it seems faster , the visuals are better but its still DX9 , that said they have done a fantastic job of it , and it runs lovely and smooth but at the end of the day its an FPS and there aint much you can do with them that aint already been done perfectly in cod mw and cod waw

there are many more weapons and unlocks and combinations of killstreak awards

there is no lean which is a pain at first , you keep trying to peek around corners and realise you cant , and there are some laggy matches (these so far have been few and far between)

the same gametypes are there but the hardcore gametypes need to be unlocked meaning you dont get new players straying into hardcore matches and getting owned it makes it kind of a learning curve which is a pain for us cos we already know how to play it

at first i thought the movement felt a bit "consoley" but i think its down to the weapon sway effect they have its much more realistic but takes a bit of getting used to , unfortunately if you dont like it theres no way of turning it off

max player numbers is 9v9 but thats perfect for the maps the balance is good

there is no way you could play theis competatively , its too hit and miss on the lag side of things

because of those few niggles i dont want to say "yeah go out and buy it" i dont want people coming back at me saying it sh!t but i can say if you do buy it i dont think you'll be dissapointed in the single player or multiplayer

all this game needs is dedicated server files and foir me it'll be perfect

but as you say they'd have to go pretty far to beat COD4.... it is ''perfect'',

ive never used the ''lean'' since i started with COD, so i wont suffer from that at all...... the weapon sway sounds like it could get annoying, i hope it dont affect the movement too much....

have they removed that crappy perk....''martyrdom'' ??

yeah, ive seen the screenies it looks VERY smart.....D, & from what im hearing its pretty much touch up & tweak on COD4 which is EXACTLY what i wanted.

ive always had issues with lean anyway , you lean out a doorway take a shot and get taken down , when you look at killcam your in full view anyway!! making the lean option pretty pointless , if the enemy can still see you full on leaning or not then its just a waste of a keystroke

Is it MORE or LESS fast paced than CoD4? I hate when they rush me, I am a lazy puck and I like to take my time

HOnestly though, the fact that they rush me a lot is annoying to me, I like to do things my own way and even though, I know the object will still be there when I get there, it makes me mad.

Still, I did enjoy CoD4 and I played it like 3 or 4 times (single gamer). Hardcore was a bit tedious and sureal but, I was able to finish it nonetheless.

5 to 20 hours is still a very short game in my book and I am a very slow guy when it comes to getting from point A to point B so, it seems to me that charging 60 bucks 6 hours of play is gouging it a little bit.

I'll just ask my friend to lend it to me once he is bored... it always happens
