Poster Information Panel (postbit)

I have just had a look at this section of the forums, and I have noticed a difference in the layout of the poster's information panel. Would it be possible to combine the two versions for the whole of the forums? The useful addition is the 'My System Specs' tab at the foot of the panel. If everyone filled in the appropriate section in their personal profiles (and kept it up to date), then this could prove very useful. I have had to check the profiles of a few users to ascertain what their system specifications were, and this would make things a lot easier. It would also mean that you weren't having to move away from the thread in question whilst you were getting the required information.

Another thing that I have noticed is that both John's and Shawn's Rep Power has dropped from 200 to 150. Has the maximum level changed?

The new panel is on as default over the entire board now, if your are still getting the old one just change the the v2 version in the theme selector at the bottom of the page.

Rep - some people (admins included) just had too much rep power for the ranking systems to be fair, so I changed a few of the calcs to lower everybodys power.

The changes are forum-wide, you can find each users buttons at the top instead of the left but everything from the old layout is there with a few additions and can be accessed from anywhere on the forum I also believe John and Shawn lowered there rep power because it was too high to give people rep without automatically changing there group...We might be adding more groups if too many become Gurus

Wow, I really like the new layout. Especially the system specs tab, it's great. Kudos to you Mr. Admin...

Edit: Could you maybe disable the avatar for those that don't have an avatar loaded? As I was looking through a thread, there were so many question marks.

I think the main problem with the avatars is in the newsgroup sections, I will look at wrapping it in a conditional for the newsgroup sections.

BTW this is still a work in progress

John, can I suggest a new category for the 'System Specs' panel of the 'User CP'. This would be for those who have ready built systems from Dell, HP and other manufacturers. If they didn't know the actual hardware in their PC, they could put the manufacturer and model number here.

For example: HP Compaq 6715b Notebook PC

I suggest that a suitable heading for this section would be 'System Manufacturer/Model Number'.

Well, that's not really a computer spec, is it? I just see that as an extra part that isn't essential... But that's just me. :huh:
