Problem booting into vista.

A friend of mine dropped off his PC today with booting issues.

Instantly I found a bad stick of memory and removed, at least allowing display, only to encounter another problem. Just as the windows loading bar is fading in, the computer will hang, I can just about see the writing "windows corporation" and it will sit here for as long as I leave it.

I have tried safe mode, last know good config and even tried booting off a recovery disc. All of which, I have had no luck with. I have tried removing everything and just booting off 1 stick of ram and HDD but again no joy atall.

Ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for the speedy response.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to another machine running vista.

I have download the Neosmart vista recovery file but that hangs on the loading bar also.
