HI all!
I'm new here and I do not know where to post this...

My Problem is I tried to install the IMVU chat program but it won't work, I contact the IMVU customer help, after several email exchange they tell me that they can't do nothing and the problem come from Vista home 32.

Here's what the IMVU setup say:

1- Error opening file for writing:
C:\Users\******\AppData\Roaming\IMVUClient\IMVUupdater.exe
Click retry to try again, orCancel to stop the installation.

I click Retry a few time without success, so I click Cancel.

2a-Can't write:C:\Users\******\AppData\Roaming\IMVUClient\IMVUupdater.exe

2b-Output folder: C:\Users\FWASP\AppData\Roaming\IMVUClient
Collecting hardware specs
Can't write: C:\Users\FWASP\AppData\Roaming\IMVUClient\IMVUupdater.exe

I'll be very tankful of any help.

Tank you

That's it!

Do you have anti spyware/adware/malware software installed, such as spybot or various 'internet security' programs.
Many of these detect and remove parts of IMVU (mywebsearch & funwebsearch etc) as these have characteristics of spyware.
This will cause IMVU to not run correctly.

Hi FIREWASP and welcome to Vista Forums

Have you tried right-clicking on the installation file (probably called Install or Setup) and selecting Run as administrator? Note that you will need to provide administrative credentials when prompted.

Tank you all,
For your fast answer...

@ DWARF: It did the trick... the "run as administrator" work. But I don't understand, I am the only Admin, and only user of this machine....
I tank you, I tried for so long to fix that simple trouble.... I try to turn off the "user account control"...It did not work, but now it work just fine...

Tank again.
