I bought an ASUS Striker II Formula, and it the DVD it has comes with a lot a stuff to install. One of them is AI Suite, which has a couple of features including the OC program AI booster. For some reason when I try to OC to over 10%, Vista won't load. If anyone knows a better OC program please tell me or help me with this program. The version of AI Suite is 1.03.16.
Just so you know, when I overclock to 10%, my CPU temperature stays at or under 40 degrees Celsius. When every CPU core is a 100%, the temperature is 56 degrees Celsius.
I have a striker II and anything on that dvd is out dated.
-many voltage setting need to be done to overclock on this board to make it stable
-I would go to the asus motherboard forum for the striker II and ask there. I'am over there every day.
-after a rough voltage adjustments the bios is the best place to OC
-The auto settings on the striker are low for most CPU's and the auto settings either ramp up too high or not high enough
-striker II does not like quads when the bios is set to auto

-bios 1602 is the latest and the best one so far
-but needs care to load on this board see the forums use EZ flash II not windows update
-once set up it is a good board ,but it needs to be set up ,that,s why your small 10% OC failed ,to put it another way the default bios settings are to just get you to a bootable system and that's it - any stress and it will crash in most cases.
that a side , the big problem with this board are the nb-sb chips temps and can only be seen in the bios or the retail verison of Everest. So hot - asus won't show them in the utilities ,and in the last couple of bios's sets - the default shut down temp is set to 110c from 90c to cut back on the RMA's
-the heat pipes - if the Northbridge -south bridge temps are higher than 60c-65c , it should be remounted ,mine run in the low 50's ,with two cards , 5 drives
--sounds like a lot of work ,but this is not a plug and play board , but it runs fast with the right settings.
-and it depends what your use is for - gaming ? if so it needs to be stable to handle the stress - OC or not.
-not knowing the room temps ,the temps you stated could be low or high ,and what program did you read them from ?
-download CORE TEMPS in see what the temps are like in that,
-good luck
