Problems Booting up.

Hello Again,

Having another issue booting up, but this one is deffrent from my last one. Had thought it was pretty bad, so i had written everything down so it could help to try and fix this problem hopefully.

This is also a pretty long post, and probably some of it is doubled, didnt mean to cause any spam or anything like that, just trying to help make it easyier for you guys to try and help me.

Also, according to my sister before she had shut down the computer, she was on the internet, and had said it started to open up others non stop so she had turned off the computer, dont know if that could of caused it or not.

had gotten the Following Error on a Blue screen when i had first turned on my PC. After that it had turned off, so i had turned it on to hopefully try to get into safe mode, but couldn't. Instead, i was prompted with the Start Up Repair, I've tried that, after about 2 hours, it had finaly went in for a bit, so i tried a System Restore, it had turned off computer, and was back where i had started.

AMD Phenom x3 8400 Tripe-Core processor (2.1Ghz)
4GB DDR2 Memory
320 GB Sata hard Drive
Intergrated NVIDIA GeForce 8200 Graphics

And the OS is Windows Vista Home Premium 64Bit

If you can get into safe mode then try to run a full scan with an antivirus program. It sounds like you got some virus/malware infection. As it sounds like maybe you don't even have an antivirus program installed and actively monitoring when windows started popping up all the sudden. Avast Home is free and a pretty good major antivirus program. Malwarebytes, Spybot SD are good free antispyware programs. If it finds anything and you can successfully get rid of it then run SFC/scannow afterwards.

Well, i have McAfee, AVG, Um, Windows Defender, Spybot SD all on this computer, so i uno, i cant even get into Safe Mode either

Ok, so i was able to get it to log me into Windows Normaly for a bit, about 20 minutes after Startup Repair ran, and i had tried Malwarebytes for a scan, and had found,

Hope its clear enough, that was befor ei had removed them, then it had asked for reboot for the removal to be completed, so rebooted, and same thing had happened.
Running AVG to see if it can pick up any Virus, along with McAfee after it,then prob Windows Defender, Going to prob also DL one you suggested to see, just to be on the safe side. Once im sertioni have them off, going to try that SFC/Scannow.

Hello again,

So, at the moment i am booted up on my computer. I've been on it for awhile now, i have ran the following things,

Spybot SD,
MalwareBytes,
McAfee,
AVG,
Windows Defender.

MalwareBytes had found 12 Malware/Spyware, I was able to remove 11 of them, Rebooted computer for it to take effect, went throught the same process as i did the first time. But, one was still on computer, witht he name of, (HiJack.DisplayProp) i was prompted to restart the computer, but decided not to at the moment cause it would probably do same thing. Sense then, i've updated computer and everything, but, friend suggested that, registry file is probably missing. He had also suggest to just Reinstall Vista, but i cant sense i dont have the Disk, so would there be any other way to go about this?

Any suggestions, Solutions is welcomed.

By just having 2 Antivirus applications on one system sounds really bad to me.

AVG and Mcafee? You should never install 2 antivirus programs on the same system. They can conflict with each other and probably render themselves both unusable.

My suggestion: Restart your computer again, run Spybot SD as well and delete anything found and uninstall one of two AVG or Mcafee.

If there is a recovery partition on the machine , it should be possible to use that to restore it back to factory condition - usually you press F11 or similar to access that option.

If you are not able to do that, you shouldn't need to buy the dvd.

If you have a product key for your machine, a sticker on it somewhere ? - you have the license - you don't need to buy it again.

You do need an install dvd , can you borrow one?

All the M$install dvd's have all Editions of Vista on them.

When you enter your product key during the installation , the correct Edition is installed.

You would need to make sure you have all the drivers for your machine before that - you can probably find them on the Acer site.

As ( I assume ) your Vista was pre-installed by the manufacturer, you may need to ring them to activate .

Or you could contact Acer - they will probably send you some kind of dvd ( might be a Recovery dvd ) for very little - I believe HP send them out free.

K, i removed all of the programs (Excess, Virus & Spyware / Malware) Rebooted the computer. SpyBot CD removed all of the Malware On the computer, after that its been booting pretty good. Little slower then what it ust to be, but good, just about 20 Seconds slower or so, but isnt a big Deal.

Think i'm going to give it a shot, think it would just be best to do it, an be on the safer side. Had also contracted Acer, cant get a CD, but they gave me a Step By Step solutution to Put it back to Factory way.

Yea, i had also thought it was wierd that the Windows was doing that. Hasn't done it sense then.

Yea, glad its fixed for now. It was getting really frustrated. And, was thinking about Disabling / Removing some things. But it kind of had my iffy on it, Just mainly for the fact that didn't really know what to Disable what not. But, seeing this guide, think i'm going to have to take a look around. Has me curious now.

Oxo error possible fix---- ran all scans as above and previous posts--- no fix! Realized oxo error only started when we switched to mobile 4g plugin. Wah la! Unplugged 4g mobile plug in prior to boot up. Dah ah! After computer started, before putting in password i plug in 4 g unit. No oxo errors for 2 months now. Have i fixed this problem?? Will start new thread.
